Calanova Homes is a gated urbanisation of 42 houses in Mijas, on the hillside above the coast between La Cala de Mijas, Riviera del Sol and Calahonda, with panoramic views over the Bay of Málaga. It is built by Avantespacia as 40 semi-detached houses and 2 detached villas, all with four bedrooms plus a versatile extra room, private garden, terraces and, in most units, a solarium and a two-car garage. The scheme is sold off-plan and is being marketed in phases 1 and 2.

Homes designed around light and views

The houses are laid out over three or four levels and the plans vary a lot from plot to plot. Built area runs from 136 to 268 m², or 141 to 277 m² including the share of communal space, on plots of 154 to 387 m². The largest layouts add a basement with a 20 m² leisure room, a third bathroom, a laundry and an integrated garage for two cars plus a storage room; the smaller ones swap the basement for a bigger plot and outdoor parking. Almost every house has a solarium of around 54 to 56 m², and private gardens run from 33 to 115 m².

Inside, the living, dining and kitchen space is a single room opening onto the terrace. Floors are large format rectified porcelain stoneware on the ground floor, terraces and solarium, with laminated wood flooring and acoustic underlay in the bedroom areas and electric underfloor heating in the bathrooms. The exterior carpentry is aluminium with thermal break and double glazing with an air chamber, with motorised insulated aluminium blinds in the living room, kitchen and bedrooms, and the entrance door is armoured. The kitchen is delivered fitted, with a porcelain worktop, lit upper units, recessed LED ceiling lighting and Bosch appliances: integrated fridge-freezer, integrated dishwasher, induction hob, integrated extractor hood, and oven and microwave in a tower, plus a washing machine in the fully tiled laundry.

Each house has its own aerothermal system for hot water and climate control, and selected homes include photovoltaic panels. A private lift is available as an option.

La Cala de Mijas, Riviera del Sol and Calahonda are all a few minutes away, with restaurants, shops, international schools and beach clubs, and the beaches are a short drive down the hill. The AP-7 toll motorway and the A-7 coast road are close by, which puts Marbella, Fuengirola and Málaga airport within easy reach.
